Global financial institution based in the City of London is seeking a

Windows/Linux Systems Administrator

for 6 months inside IR35 contract with scope for extension. This is a hybrid position (2-3 days in the London office), offering a rate of £550 to £700 per day (inside IR35). Required Skills/Experience

Strong system administration experience within a RedHat (or RH derivative such as CentOS / Rocky Linux) based environment. Proficiency with Build, CI/CD systems and especially GIT. Previous experience with low latency systems or financial experience is desirable. Scripting with Python and bash; other languages are a bonus. Prior experience with cloud environments desirable (AWS / GCP). Terraform experience is a bonus but not necessary. Webserver technologies: nginx, NodeJS, JavaScript, Python, Tomcat. Packaging and maintaining software in an RPM based environment. Proficiency with virtualization software and configuration (e.g. VMware, Nutanix, Proxmox). Job Overview

The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the smooth running of all internal systems (Exchange platforms) and associated systems: Deployment and maintenance of software/OS/hardware using systems and configuration management tools (RH Satellite, Ansible, etc.). Systems capacity planning; creating and maintaining a scalable system for Dev, QA, Test, and Production environments. Manage backups and archiving systems/scripts. Patching/patch plans and implementation. Manage monitoring systems such as SolarWinds / Nagios. Assist the internal 1st-line Linux support team where required. Supporting the platforms during market opening hours, troubleshooting operational issues, or assisting with upgrades. Assist the company’s Exchange Technology clients through the lifecycle of the implementation process: Initial specifications / RFP Installation/knowledge transfer / on-site support Integration with client's existing systems – work with their infrastructure teams as well as any projects. Provide Linux support and assistance to the DevOps team. Prepare and maintain up-to-date documentation.
