Our client, a leading manufacturing client based in Newcastle, is looking to recruit a Wiring Harness and Loom Assembly Technician to join the business on a permanent basis due to business growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for the production of Wiring Harnesses and Looms to specification following build instructions, wiring schedules, and drawings. Candidates will ideally be time-served in an Electrical discipline with demonstrable experience in reading Electrical Schematics, panel wiring, soldering, crimping, and terminating cabling. You will also be trained to IPC 620 Standards or equivalent with strong soldering skills for both wiring and PCB Manufacture. Experience using a broad range of connectors is also a must. Candidates not qualified but with a clear history in similar work will be considered. Hours: Monday to Thursday 6:30am to 3:00pm / Friday 6:30am to 12:00pm. Any overtime worked over 37.5 hours per week is paid at premium rates to boost earnings. Key Responsibilities: Manufacture wires, cables, harnesses, and wiring looms using manual tools and automatic machines by following correct build instructions, wiring schedules, and drawings. Maintain quality standards within the build. Support Electrical Technician with panel wiring of small accurate components under supervision where required. Work to allocated tasks in line with the Production MPS. Be involved in and instigate continuous improvement activities. Manage and complete daily maintenance on wire manufacturing machines. Aid Manufacturing Engineering in the creation of wiring schedules from existing products. Skills & Qualifications: Ideally time-served in an electrical discipline. Trained to IPC 620 Standards. Strong soldering skills. Strong IT skills and experience in operating machinery in electrical component production. Strong technical skills in crimping and terminating cables.
