This role offers supported learning in all aspects of Women's & Children's pharmacy services in a friendly tertiary hospital. Rotations are 9 months across a varied range specialties Each rotation is supported by senior specialist pharmacists No prior Women's or Children's pharmacy service experience is required; we welcome applicants from all pharmacy backgrounds. This role is predominantly patient facing and there are no on call duties Our structured training to is designed to support progression and completion of the competency portfolio will allow progression to a band 7 role. Main duties of the job

If you are a band 6 applicant, we will support your development to progress to a band 7 role following completion of competency portfolio The person recruited to this post will join a friendly team of rotational pharmacist who provide services across St Mary's and Royal Manchester Children's hospital on the Oxford road site. Main duties for this role include Reviewing patient treatments using our EPR system (also know as HIVE) Timely and appropriate supply of medication Timely and appropriate medicines reconciliation for newly admitted patients Opportunity to be involved with guideline development, finance review, medicines optimisation, clinical governance, audit and quality improvement projects Attending weekly teaching sessions provide by pharmacy and clinical specialties Participating in person and virtual ward rounds reviewing and optimising patients treatment Undergoing training relating to complex treatments e.g. parenteral nutrition and chemotherapy. Qualifications

Vocational Master's Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent Pre-registration training and successful completion of relevant examination Job related Postgraduate qualification eg. Clinical diploma (or successfully completion of first year), or equivalent experience Sucessfully completed first year of diploma (B7 appointments) Knowledge and Experience

Demonstrable team working Demonstrable commitment to CPD Basic Clinical knowledge in a range of topics Audit or Research experience Registration

GPhC registered Skills

Analysis of complex information relating to individual patients medication Ability to work on initiative and as part of the team Ability to recognise own limitations and boundaries and need to consult with senior colleagues Good communication skills both spoken and written Good communication skills both spoken and written Basic problem solving abilities Disclosure and Barring Service Check
