Wood / CNC Machinists Wanted. Based between Southampton and Fareham. Full-time Temporary to Permanent Opportunity. 45-Hours Per Week, Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm. 14-Per Hour (Depending on Experience Hourly Pay Rate Could Be Higher). You will need your own transport to get to site, no public transport links available. Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of CNC machinery to produce precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes and the ability to work with a variety of wood materials. The Machinist will play a crucial role in ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently. Duties: Operate and maintain machining equipment, including lathes, mills, and grinders. Assemble components according to specifications and engineering drawings. Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet required standards. Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for various machining tasks. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes. Maintain a clean and organised work area, always adhering to safety protocols. Skills: Proficient in basic maths for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex machinery operations. Experience with wood machining is essential. Ability to grind, assemble, and build components accurately. Competent in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. You must be eligible to work in the UK as a permanent employee.
