HK Law is keen to support young people in their journey towards a career in law. As part of this commitment, during the month of July, we will be giving 8 University and Sixth Form students the chance to undertake a one-week placement at an office of their choosing. These placements will be unpaid and aimed primarily at students who are seeking to study towards (or who are currently undertaking) a Law Degree or equivalent qualification, with the long-term aim of becoming a Lawyer. However, we are also open to applications from individuals who are not yet decided upon a career in Law and would like to find out more about working within this sector. What You Will Be Doing: You will get the opportunity to shadow our highly skilled Lawyers and will also be provided with basic tasks and reading to support you in building your understanding of legal matters, research, and jargon. You will usually be on-site at the office from 09:30 AM – 4:30 PM (with a break for lunch). On occasion, we may offer the opportunity for you to accompany our Lawyers to client meetings or court hearings off-site. What You Will Gain From the Experience: As well as gaining general knowledge from spending a week within a law firm, the experience will equip you with a range of transferable skills that are essential in the working world, no matter what direction you choose to take in the future. We will be offering one-week placements at the following offices (addresses are on our website), commencing on the dates below: Blandford:
