Life at Next Distribution
Next is one of the UK’s best-known retailers on the high street and most established online. Behind the scenes, we are at the cutting edge of Warehousing and Logistics, employing more than 7000 people across our distribution network.
Life as a Workflow Information Analyst at Next is full of variety and challenges; it’s fast-paced and constantly evolving. We look after over 2 million customers, and it takes a large, talented, and efficient distribution operation to make that happen. Our largest distribution centre processes around 600,000 units per day to our retail stores and to our customers' doors, which is by no means straightforward.
Online retail has never been more important than it is now. In these constantly changing and unprecedented times, our continued success is dependent on the expertise, passion, and adaptability of the teams across our distribution network.
About the Role
We are looking for a Workflow Information Analyst to join the team and be responsible for managing the flow of work to forward picking locations from high bay stock.
The Workflow Analyst will be responsible for the daily planning and forecasting of volumes, equating this to the required resources, and accurately releasing work in line with daily planners. You will complete daily operational planners and monitor the daily plan, ensuring time-critical stock release and movement. Reporting into a Workflow Assistant Site Manager, you will communicate any analysis and evaluation to them to enable operational managers to plan and make decisions based on current data. Using Web and Mainframe screens, you will be responsible for completing daily and weekly reports in line with agreed deadlines by analysing data and highlighting trends. As a Workflow Analyst, you will support the senior management team to ensure that service levels are met in line with company KPIs, driving efficiencies across the business.
To succeed in the role of Workflow Information Analyst, you will be a team player, possessing excellent communication skills when dealing with colleagues at all levels within the organisation. You will be self-motivated, organised, and able to prioritise in changing and pressurised situations, with demonstrable problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and excellent PC skills are essential; notably with Excel and Google Sheets (including skills with IFs and Vlookups), Google Docs, and Microsoft Word. Experience with Mainframe or SCADA systems would be an advantage. The successful candidate will be educated to a minimum level of GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
