The Role: Embed yourself within the team on each project, understanding the project brief and goals. Understand how the design of a project relates to the performance and functional issues of a business, so that practical questions can be addressed at the outset. Ensure current building regulations are being adhered to. Contribute to planning applications and other regulatory application procedures. Carry out building surveys when required and feed their results into the project. Work closely with the concept designer to develop their ideas into a final set of preliminary information ready for client approval. Prepare construction stage information for site use. Act as a lead for the detailed design process and coordinate design information from other members of the professional team. Liaise with appropriate authorities when producing documentation for statutory approval, such as planning inquiries and building inspectors. Advise on suitable products and specifications when required. Ensure BCO standards are being considered. Skills: Experience within Design & Build. Experience on Workplace projects. Design skills and knowledge to enhance technical ability. Knowledge of building and construction methods. Practical thinking and reasoning skills. Some knowledge of engineering science and technology. Math skills. Excellent verbal communication skills. Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD.
