Job Overview Due to an expansion we are currently recruiting for a Workshop Administrator/Controller. We are an established independent service repair and MOT garage, trading in Thatcham/Newbury. We carry out work on all makes and models. Applicant MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE in the trade, with previous experience of working in a busy garage environment, to join our friendly team. Responsibilities To greet all customers and visitors whether by phone or in person, in a professional and courteous manner. To ensure the telephone is answered promptly and courteously at all times. To take bookings in person, over the telephone and online and accurately record them in the diary. Maximise the potential of workshop. To create invoices & estimates. To process customer payments. To ensure that the Reception and Customer Waiting Areas are kept in a clean and tidy condition at all times. Liaise with customers/suppliers online. General administration, record keeping, data input and filing to ensure the smooth running of the business. To be responsible for your own safety and that of all employees and visitors to the dealership. To undertake any additional tasks, responsibilities, or assignments as requested. Requirements Proven experience in a similar role with strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Mechanical knowledge is essential, along with the ability to perform heavy lifting as required for equipment handling. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and equipment repair techniques is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret schematics related to machinery operations. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in financial reporting. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating independence when necessary.
