A leading structural steel and architectural metalwork fabrication company dedicated to delivering high-quality, innovative solutions to our clients is recruiting a permanent Workshop Manager. You will have an opportunity to join a rapidly growing company whose growth is testament to the forward thinking and drive of their valued employees. Along with this, you will have an opportunity to stamp your mark within your role and take full responsibility for your department, being the workshop head. They specialise in the design, fabrication, and installation of structural steel and architectural metalwork for a diverse range of projects. Role Overview. As the Workshop Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and fabricating high-quality equipment for operations. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will ensure all welding and fabrication tasks meet the highest standards, supporting the company’s reputation for reliability and service excellence. Key Responsibilities. Workshop Management: Oversee day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to deadlines. Reporting to the Managing Director. Maintain a safe and organized workshop environment, enforcing health and safety regulations. Ensure that tasks are delegated and completed to the highest standard by the other members of the workshop. Ensure that all consumables and general workshop supplies are maintained to an acceptable level. Welding and Fabrication: Weld to a high standard using MIG techniques on mild steel and Hardox, ranging from 1mm to 35mm. Fabricate parts and structures according to technical drawings. Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with company standards. Monitor and maintain tools, equipment, and supplies. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure timely delivery of projects. Support and mentor team members as required. Coordinate work between 3 project managers and assist with their needs. What We’re Looking For. Essential Skills & Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role. Proven ability to MIG & TIG weld to a high standard. Proficient in fabrication and reading technical drawings. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP, CRM software. Desirable Skills & Qualifications: Forklift Truck (FLT) license. Personal Attributes: Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Strong communication skills. A proactive, can-do attitude with excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
