Role Purpose The Finance Manager leads Yorkshire Dance’s day-to-day financial operations, ensuring efficient systems and compliance with legal and best practices in financial management and charity governance. They manage financial processes, support strategic planning, and oversee financial reporting to the Executive Director, Board of Trustees, and external bodies. Position in the Organisation Reporting to the Executive Director, the Finance Manager is a key member of the management team, working closely with the core team and Board of Trustees. They also line manage the Administration Assistant. Key Responsibilities The Finance Manager oversees financial control, reporting, and statutory compliance, including PAYE, VAT, Gift Aid, and Companies House filings. They prepare budgets, management accounts, and statutory accounts, working with auditors and budget holders. Responsibilities include bookkeeping, payroll coordination with an external provider, and supporting income generation through building rentals and commercial activities. They manage financial reporting for board meetings, ensure appropriate insurance coverage, and contribute to Yorkshire Dance’s wider income generation strategy. The role also involves supporting the Administration Assistant with invoice processing, bank reconciliation, and payment approvals.
