Work directly with young adult carers, providing personalised information and support, referring to other agencies where appropriate. Carry out initial assessments to ascertain the needs of the young adult carer and offer/complete a Young Carer Statement or Adult Carer Support Plan. Develop and support new and existing young adult carer support groups at times accessible to young adult carers. Organise and staff one-off events, including occasional residential breaks that can take place on weekends. Develop and distribute information for young adult carers. Identify and access funding for young adult carer activities and for individual young adult carers. This role requires some evening and occasional weekend work. A full clean UK driving licence is essential, as is access to a car. This role also requires PVG scheme membership.
