The Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA is seeking a Youth Coach/Trainer who will be responsible for leading a group or team of teens in a designated sport and progressive skill development. The Youth Coach/Trainer will promote the enjoyment of sports while improving physical competence, developing confidence, and teaching healthy competition.

Schedule team practices and games during Saturday Night Lights Teen Center hours in collaboration with Teen Advisors.

Create written plans for all practices that are age-appropriate and progressive, as needed.

Provide supervision of the players to ensure safety and engagement.

Be able to modify and adapt coaching styles to meet the needs of the participants.

Emphasize teamwork and sportsmanship over winning and the outcome of the game.

Work with the Supervisor to develop and lead program promotion and recruitment efforts.

Actively participate in designated meetings, training sessions, and special events.

Adhere to all Saturday Night Lights funding expectations and requirements.

Keep a safe and clean activity space.

Desired Skills & Experience:
