£28 Umbrella P/H Full-time, Permanent Hackney Borough Council is looking for a passionate and dedicated Youth Justice Practitioner to join the Youth Justice Service. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to preventing youth crime and supporting young people at risk of offending, ensuring the best possible outcomes for them and their families. As a Youth Justice Practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions to young people involved in or at risk of offending. You will work closely with a range of professionals, including social workers, the police, courts, and health services, to deliver assessments, interventions, and reports that contribute to reducing re-offending and improving community safety. Key Responsibilities: Provide evidence-based interventions and work in partnership with other agencies to support young people who have offended or are at risk of offending. Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports for court proceedings, including pre-sentence reports, and ensure all statutory requirements are met. Assess and monitor risk and vulnerability factors in young people and develop action plans accordingly. Represent the local authority in Youth Court and liaise with relevant stakeholders to contribute to the youth justice process. Work with families, ensuring they are fully engaged in the intervention process and receive the necessary support. Contribute to team meetings, professional development, and ensure your practice meets national and best practice standards. About You:

We are looking for a candidate with: A relevant professional qualification (degree level) in social work, youth work, or probation. At least two years of experience working with young people in a youth justice context. Knowledge of Youth Justice legislation and the ability to assess and manage risks to young people and the public. Strong report writing skills and the ability to present in court. A commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding children and young people.
