- Edinburgh/Yorkshire/Manchester/Hybrid - 06 Months Initial Gibbs Consulting is currently seeking a skilled Z Network Consultant to be a part of the Mainframe Networks Team within z Mainframe Services in a hands-on capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for configuring and maintaining products and services in alignment with organizational standards, policies, and agreed service levels. You will also contribute to project execution within the team's scope, which includes providing 24/7 operational support. Additionally, you will offer technical expertise, troubleshooting incidents and resolving system and process issues in complex environments while applying site reliability engineering (SRE) principles. Mainframe Engineer experience with a strong technical background. Extensive expertise in z/OS and z/VM Networking, including Communication Server, SNA, and TCP/IP. Proficiency in z/OS, z/VM, USS, SDSF, and JCL. Hands-on experience with session management tools such as TPX, CL/Supersession, and NC-Access. Familiarity with network management solutions, particularly NETVIEW. Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose critical online systems efficiently. Self-motivated team player with a strong commitment to delivery excellence, willing to work flexible hours, including unsociable shifts when required. Extensive experience in complex IT environments, demonstrating adaptability and resilience in fast-paced settings. Strong commercial acumen with excellent collaboration skills, including experience working with third-party vendors. Banking or financial services experience is preferred.
