  • Support lessons, learning activities, behaviour, assessment, or childcare routines according to the role.
  • Work with teachers, children, learners, families, or colleagues to keep progress and safety on track.

Skills and requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEN/ALN, ideally in a specialist or additional needs setting.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and relationship-building skills.
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach to teaching and behaviour support.

Confirmed role details

  • Deliver and assess engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with a range of SEN/ALN, including (but not limited to) ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD and communication needs.
  • Create a safe, structured and positive learning environment that supports individual learning styles.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies, interventions and resources to meet pupils’ needs.
  • Record pupil progress, adapting teaching accordingly.
