What the role involves

• Delivering tailored one-to-one and small group interventions to support student progress.
• Assisting teaching staff in adapting learning activities to meet individual student needs.
• Supporting students with SEND, SEMH, and other barriers to learning, encouraging independence and engagement.
• Monitoring student development and contribute to progress reviews.
• Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to enhance student outcomes.

Skills and requirements

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or in a similar educational support role.
• Understanding of supporting students with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
• A patient, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting young people.

Confirmed role details

• Temporary, Supply, Part-Time, Term Time Only.
• Start Date: September 2026 or sooner.
• £102 – £120 per day (Depending on experience).
• GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking an Advanced Teaching Assistant to work within secondary schools in Selby.
