Teaching Assistant focuses on supporting pupils with sen and complex needs in classroom and group settings.
What the role involves
- Supporting pupils with SEN and complex needs in classroom and group settings.
- Assisting in the implementation of IEPs, behaviour support plans, and personalised learning strategies.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for academic, social, and emotional development.
- Supporting teachers in lesson delivery, classroom management, and preparation of resources.
- Assisting pupils with daily routines, transitions, and self-care tasks, promoting independence.
- Record pupil progress, including behavioural observations, learning milestones, and intervention outcomes.
Skills and requirements
- Adhere to safeguarding policies, undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Confirmed role details
- £22,000 – £24,000 FTE (pro-rata for part-time).
- Full-Time / Part-Time Considered.
- Start Date: September 2026.
- Specialist SEN training, including autism awareness, ADHD support strategies, communication interventions, and positive behaviour management.
Candidate fit
- Be able to implement behaviour management strategies effectively and consistently.
- Be committed to safeguarding, child protection, and professional ethics.
- Hold relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEN Support, or equivalent experience.
