Job Purpose:

The Assistant Financial Accountant will be responsible for the daytoday financial accounting for the Kenya entity under IFRS, taking ownership of journal posting and monthly balance sheet reconciliations. The role will also support specific accounting processes within the UK entity and contribute to financeled projects, including Kenya tax requirements, under the direction of the Financial Control Manager.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for a partqualified accountant looking to develop strong financial accounting skills within an international environment, supported by a fully funded homestudy ACCA package.

Responsibilities:

· Full ownership of IFRS accounting for the Kenya entity - Post all journals, including accruals, prepayments, and monthend adjustments.

· Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations as part of the month end close process.

· Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.

· Support with Kenya tax activities.

· Ownership for employee expenses, covering policy, processes, systems, and compliance.

· Support monthend and yearend reporting activities.

· Provide support to the wider finance function, including the UK entity.

Tax & Compliance Support (Kenya)

· Support the ongoing accounting for Kenya taxes, including VAT, withholding tax,

and corporation tax, under the direction and guidance of the Financial Control

Manager.

· Develop an understanding of local tax requirements and their accounting impact

and assist in ensuring taxrelated processes are accurate, wellcontrolled, and

appropriately documented.

UK Entity Support

· Post bank transactions for the UK entity.

· Full endtoend ownership of employee expenses, covering policy and governance,

process design, administration of SAP Concur and AMEX, user guidance, compliance, and ongoing optimisation.

· Assist with reconciliations and adhoc accounting activities as required.

Projects & Process Improvement

· Support finance projects, including process and system improvements.

· Assist with establishing and maintaining robust accounting controls.

· Support audit requests and finance queries where required.

Key Systems

· Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)

· SAP Concur (expenses)

· Microsoft Office packages (predominantly Excel)

Requirements/Qualifications:

· Partqualified ACCA (or equivalent), or actively studying.

· Relevant experience in a finance or accounting role, with the ability to perform the responsibilities outlined above.

· IFRS knowledge or exposure.

· Experience posting journals and preparing balance sheet reconciliations.

· Comfortable working with accounting systems and using Excel.

· Exposure to management accounting.

· Strong attention to detail with a clear ownership mindset.

· Well organised, pro-active and able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

· Willingness and ability to learn unfamiliar areas (e.g. Kenya tax concepts).

· Confident and clear communicator, able to work with stakeholders across the business.
