Associate Nuclear Waste Consultant focuses on managing complex nuclear waste management projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.

What the role involves

  • Managing complex nuclear waste management projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in nuclear waste management, including waste characterisation, treatment, storage, and disposal.
  • Develop and implement waste management strategies, plans, and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
  • Oversee technical assessments, risk evaluations, and feasibility studies to support project decision-making.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships to understand their needs.
  • Deliver technical presentations, reports, and documentation to clients and stakeholders.

Skills and requirements

  • Working on UK nuclear licensed sites or strong knowledge of UK Site Licence Companies.
  • A minimum HNC qualification, preferably supported by a relevant science or engineering degree.
  • Extensive relevant experience with strong technical knowledge and leadership capability.
  • A strong understanding of engineering design principles and the ability to apply them within complex project environments.
