Attendance Officer
Job description
The Attendance Officer position centres on the attendance team works closely with Heads of Year, SEN staff and the Safeguarding Lead, creating a joined-up approach that genuinely supports students and families. It would suit someone who can bring supportive pastoral team and excellent training to the role.
Where ownership sits
Be responsible for monitoring student attendance, following up concerns and working closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams to improve attendance outcomes. A large secondary school in Derby is looking to appoint a dedicated Attendance Officer to strengthen its pastoral and safeguarding provision from January 2026.
What the role carries

Supporting attendance interventions for students with barriers to learning. Preparing attendance data for pastoral and SLT meetings.
