Autism Learning Support Assistant focuses on provide 1:1 support for a pupil with autism.
What the role involves
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with autism.
- Supporting the delivery of personalised learning and behaviour plans.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals.
- Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
- Supporting the pupil with personal care needs where required, maintaining dignity and respect at all times.
- Assisting with activities such as swimming sessions, including supporting pupils in changing rooms and in the pool.
Skills and requirements
- Previous experience in a specialist or autism provision setting.
- Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement.
- Opportunities for long-term and permanent roles.
- All roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory references.
