Automation Engineer focuses on provide automation and controls support across manufacturing, and packaging equipment.

What the role involves

  • Provide automation and controls support across manufacturing, and packaging equipment.
  • Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA and control system issues to minimise downtime.
  • Supporting fault finding, root cause analysis and equipment performance improvement.
  • Work on automation upgrades, line improvements, obsolescence projects and small CAPEX initiatives.
  • Maintain PLC/HMI software in line with site change control procedures.
  • Supporting automated systems linked to batching, mixing, filling, labelling, inspection and packaging.

Skills and requirements

  • Automation or controls engineering experience within pharmaceutical, FMCG, chemical, food, personal care or regulated manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems and industrial networks.
  • Experience with Siemens or Allen-Bradley/Rockwell automation platforms would be highly relevant.
  • Good understanding of automated production, filling, packaging, labelling, inspection or process equipment.
