What the role involves
- Provide a specialist level of clinical skill in paediatric occupational therapy, delivering high-quality assessments and interventions tailored to the needs of each child.
- Engage in high-level clinical decision-making to support A&E four-hour targets and conduct risk assessments related to the physical moving and handling of complex, dependent patien.
- Analysing socio-environmental risks to facilitate swift discharge home, utilising your analytical and clinical reasoning skills alongside appropriate outcome measures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalised care plans, ensuring holistic support for each patient.
- Provide training and guidance to other healthcare professionals and caregivers on effective therapeutic techniques and strategies.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and progress, ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
Skills and requirements
- HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist.
- Relevant degree/qualifications in Occupational Therapy.
- Proven experience working with patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, head injury, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and progressive conditions.
- Experience in rehabilitation and management of long-term conditions.
Confirmed role details
- This full-time position is available to start immediately for an initial period of 3 months ( subject to review).
- Position: Band 6 Occupational Therapist.
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.
- Typically 8.30am to 4.00pm).
