Behaviour Mentor - Immediate Requirement in Central London focuses on work closely with the senco and the pastoral lead to support students with social, emotional, and mental health (semh) needs.

What the role involves

  • Work closely with the SENCO and the Pastoral Lead to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • 1-to-1 Mentoring: Deliver bespoke mentoring sessions to students at risk of exclusion, helping them develop coping mechanisms and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Classroom Integration: Support students within the classroom to stay on task, acting as a de-escalator during moments of crisis.
  • Progress Tracking: Maintain detailed logs of student behavior and emotional wellbeing, contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Candidate fit

  • Restorative Justice: Facilitate restorative conversations between students and staff to repair relationships and promote a positive school culture.
  • Experience: Backgrounds in Youth Work, Sports Coaching, Psychology, or Military/Police service are highly valued. Previous experience with SEMH or ASD is a plus.
  • Resilience: The ability to remain calm, objective, and professional when faced with challenging behavior or verbal aggression.
