Job description
This Teaching Assistant role in Hitchin, Hertfordshire is focused on providing 1:1 mentoring for children requiring additional emotional or behavioural support. It would suit someone who can bring warm, steady communication with children and families to the role.
How the role is set up
We are seeking a motivated, empathetic, and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join a primary school in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. This school is dedicated to nurturing the social, emotional, and academic development of every child and values inclusion, pastoral support, and high-quality teaching.
Where someone would start
Providing 1:1 mentoring for children requiring additional emotional or behavioural support. Supporting children in classrooms to maintain focus, engagement, and appropriate behaviour. Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to design and implement individual behaviour support plans.
What is expected
- Experience delivering 1:1 or small group interventions.
- Experience supporting children with behavioural or emotional challenges.
- Previous Behaviour Mentor or Teaching Assistant experience in primary schools.
