Behaviour Mentor — SEMH & Inclusion Support (North London) focuses on providing structured one-to-one mentoring sessions to pupils identified as requiring behavioural or emotional support.
What the role involves
- Providing structured one-to-one mentoring sessions to pupils identified as requiring behavioural or emotional support.
- Supporting pupils with SEMH needs, ADHD, trauma-related behaviours, anxiety, and attachment difficulties.
- Implementing behaviour support plans, positive handling strategies, and individual risk assessments.
- Supporting pupils during lessons to promote focus, engagement, and appropriate behaviour.
- Working proactively to de-escalate challenging situations using restorative and trauma-informed approaches.
- Supporting pupils during unstructured times such as break, lunch, transitions, and arrival/departure.
Skills and requirements
- All applicants must be willing to undergo enhanced DBS checks.

Candidate fit
- Previous experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour or SEMH needs.
- The ability to build trusting relationships with pupils who may be disengaged or resistant.
- A genuine passion for inclusion, safeguarding, and child wellbeing.
