Job description
This Behaviour Support Assistant opportunity is built around working closely with teachers, behaviour leads, and pastoral staff to keep support aligned. It would suit someone who can bring offering calm guidance and structure when emotions run high to the role.
Who the work supports
Supporting pupils aged 11–19 with social, emotional and behavioural needs. Helping pupils settle back into learning after challenging moments.
How support shows up
Working closely with teachers, behaviour leads, and pastoral staff to keep support aligned. Free CPD training, including SEMH, behaviour support, and de-escalation modules. Ongoing dedicated support from your consultant.

Offering calm guidance and structure when emotions run high. Building trusting relationships through empathy, consistency, and clear communication. Encouraging positive choices, resilience, and small daily wins.
What needs to be in place
- Experience in SEMH, youth work, mentoring, care, or coaching is helpful (but not essential).
- All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
- Relevant teaching, instruction, or learner-support experience.
Job details
- In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
- All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
- Weekly PAYE pay (NO Umbrella Companies).
- Additional detail: Weekly pay may be available.
