Behaviour Support Assistant focuses on supporting pupils with behaviour, emotional regulation and classroom engagement.

What the role involves

  • Supporting pupils with behaviour, emotional regulation and classroom engagement.
  • Work alongside teachers to provide effective classroom support.
  • Build positive and consistent relationships with individual pupils and small groups.
  • Help maintain a calm, safe and structured learning environment.
  • Communicate relevant observations with teaching staff.

Skills and requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
  • Experience in behaviour support, education or a similar setting is advantageous.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
