Behaviour Support Assistant
Behaviour Support Assistant focuses on supporting students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs in and out of the classroom.
What the role involves
- Supporting students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs in and out of the classroom.
- Assisting teaching staff in managing behaviour and promoting positive learning attitudes.
- Provide 1:1 and small group interventions to support emotional regulation and engagement.
- Implement behaviour support strategies consistently in line with school policies.
- Help students develop coping strategies, resilience, and self-confidence.
- Encourage positive relationships and social interaction among peers.
Skills and requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Experience supporting behavioural, SEMH, or additional needs is highly advantageous.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging situations.
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply.
