Behaviour Support Practitioner
Job description
This Behaviour Support Practitioner role is focused on supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small‑group basis. It would suit someone who can bring have a trauma‑informed background (education, care, youth work, mental health, or similar) to the role.
Who the work supports
Have experienced trauma or adverse childhood experiences. Become dysregulated due to environmental or emotional triggers.
How support shows up
Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small‑group basis. Teaching Personnel are proud to be working in partnership with a specialist behaviour unit to recruit resilient, compassionate and trauma‑informed Behaviour Support Practitioners. Supporting pupils to re‑regulate emotions using trauma‑informed strategies.
The approach that fits
Have a trauma‑informed background (education, care, youth work, mental health, or similar). Can remain calm, reflective and resilient under pressure.
What needs to be in place
- Have experience in PRUs, specialist settings or behaviour units (desirable).
- Remove pupils from triggering environments when required.
- Relevant teaching, instruction, or learner-support experience.
