Behaviour Support Therapist

The Behaviour Support Therapist position centres on to support service users by teaching functional skills, developing communication systems, enhancing social skills under a framework that provides choice and promotes empowerment. It would suit someone who can bring strong professional approach to the role.

Where ownership sits

We are a 7 day a week service - successful candidates should be available to work across both weekdays and weekends, including some 9PM finishes. Full training provided.30 days' paid holiday per year pro-rata plus full training.

To support service users by teaching functional skills, developing communication systems, enhancing social skills under a framework that provides choice and promotes empowerment. To assist in the implementation of person centred programmes utilising Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support best practice. To monitor and take accurate data daily as per service users' targets.

What the role depends on

• 2 years of applied experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of learning disability and/or autism.
• Experience of supporting individuals who are non-verbal, with experience of promoting alternative modes of communication.
• Experience of supporting individuals through periods of dysregulation, including episodes of behaviours of concern.

Practical details

• Fully accredited training and qualifications offered for free after passing probation- including Behaviour Technician [previously Registered Behaviour Technician] training, BCBA an.
• You must have availability to work across weekdays, evenings, and weekends, including some 9PM finishes.
• Discretionary contribution toward professional accreditation - opportunities to get Behaviour Technician [previously RBT] training, MSc in ABA, BCBA/UKBA(cert) supervision, NVQ Lev.
