Care Assistant

Care Assistant focuses on supporting pupils with pmld on a 1:1 and small group basis.

What the role involves

• Supporting pupils with PMLD on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Assisting the class teacher with individualised learning plans and activities.
• Supporting sensory-based and play-based learning approaches.
• Supporting communication development (e.g. PECS, Makaton, sensory cues).
• Assisting with personal care and manual handling (essential requirement).
• Encouraging physical development and engagement in activities.

Skills and requirements

• Experience working with children or young people with PMLD or complex SEN (highly desirable).
• Comfortable supporting personal care and medical needs.
• A genuine passion for supporting pupils with complex needs.
• Availability to work in High Wycombe on a long-term basis.
