What the role involves

• Care Assistant focuses on provide respite care for our 18 year old son.
• The goal is to provide independence outside the family home.
• Providing 1-2-1 support during outings.
• Assisting with feeding and intimate care when required.
• Ensuring a safe environment. Our son loves to go walking, swimming and he enjoys activities that are sensory related such as music.
• Previous experience with learning disabilities is preferred but no essential.

Skills and requirements

• Assistant must be honest, trustworthy, and reliable.
• My assistant must respect my privacy and always maintain my dignity.
• My assistant must be enthusiastic and flexible with a caring disposition.
• You must be able to work well independently.

Candidate fit

• Patience, dignity, clear communication, and dependable care standards.

Additional role context

• Between 2-6 hours per week.
