The Opportunity & Role Profile

This busy primary school requires a reliable and practical Caretaker to oversee the security, maintenance, and day-to-day cleanliness of the school buildings and grounds. The role involves key holder duties and ensuring the premises are safe and welcoming for young children.

Core Responsibilities & Duties Scope

  • Access Anchor: Performing key holder duties, managing alarm systems, and securely locking up and opening the premises at required times.

  • Maintenance Mechanic: Carrying out routine minor repairs, general maintenance, and ensuring external contractors adhere to site rules.

  • Safety & Security: Overseeing site security, monitoring CCTV, and ensuring clear pathways and safe external areas.

  • Essential Requirements: Proven experience in a maintenance or site role, strong practical skills, and a trustworthy and flexible approach.

  • Salary: Competitive salary paid on the local government scale (expected to be £24,000 – £29,000 per annum).
