Carpenter focuses on carry out maintenance on all woodwork items throughout the establishment, including locks, doors, and windows (excluding electronic locking systems).

What the role involves

• Carry out maintenance on all woodwork items throughout the establishment, including locks, doors, and windows (excluding electronic locking systems).
• Maintain related logs, including work for local courts when required.
• Manage the lock store.
• Undertake planned maintenance of locks in line with locking policy.
• Install structures and fixtures such as windows and mouldings.
• Managing planned maintenance, refurbishment, and new works across the estate, including painting and decorating of staff and prisoner facilities.

Skills and requirements

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry (or equivalent qualification or substantial experience).
• Up‑to‑date First Aid at Work qualification.
