What the role involves

  • Cook, and present meals to a high standard.
  • Plan menus in line with nutritional guidelines and client requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and hygiene regulations.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.
  • Managing stock levels, ordering, and stock rotation.
  • Support Catering Assistants and kitchen staff.

Skills and requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery, Catering, or equivalent.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 (Level 3 preferred).
  • Willingness to undergo background checks (DBS).
  • Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in care homes, hospitals, or contract catering.
