What the role involves

• Atomic & Molecular Theory: Guiding students through the transition from Bohr models to quantum shells, helping them visualize orbital hybridization and molecular geometry.
• Quantitative Mastery: Coaching students in the "maths of chemistry," including complex stoichiometry, the Nernst equation, and the calculation of enthalpy and entropy changes.
• Practical Leadership: Managing the "Required Practicals" and the A-Level Practical Endorsement, ensuring students develop the high-level technical precision required for the labora.
• STEM Enrichment: Leading the school’s "Royal Society of Chemistry" challenge team and organizing visits to local chemical engineering and pharmaceutical sites.

Skills and requirements

• Relevant teaching, classroom, childcare, QTS, SEN, safeguarding, or early-years experience may be required.
