Chief Procurement Officer focuses on leading the development and delivery of the council’s procurement and commissioning strategy.

What the role involves

• Leading the development and delivery of the Council’s procurement and commissioning strategy.
• Overseeing major procurement programmes and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.
• Driving innovation and continuous improvement in procurement practices.
• Provide expert commercial advice to senior leaders, elected members, and governance boards.
• Offer assurance on procurement activity, ensuring compliance and best practice.
• Supporting strategic decision-making across the organisation.

Skills and requirements

• Significant experience leading procurement functions within the public sector.
• Experience managing large-scale procurement spend (c. £500m+).
• Experience providing senior-level commercial advice and influencing decision-making.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.

Confirmed role details

• 36 hours per week, in office as required.
• Station Road, London, Greater London, N22 7TY, United Kingdom.
• Open to candidates working 4 days per week.
• We work on a bi-weekly schedule.
