What the role involves
- Leading the development and delivery of the Council’s procurement and commissioning strategy.
- Overseeing major procurement programmes and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.
- Driving innovation and continuous improvement in procurement practices.
- Provide expert commercial advice to senior leaders, elected members, and governance boards.
- Offer assurance on procurement activity, ensuring compliance and best practice.
- Supporting strategic decision-making across the organisation.
Skills and requirements
- Significant experience leading procurement functions within the public sector.
- Experience managing large-scale procurement spend (c. £500m+).
- Experience providing senior-level commercial advice and influencing decision-making.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
Confirmed role details
- 36 hours per week, in office as required.

- Open to candidates working 4 days per week.
