What the role involves
- Children and Young Persons Support Worker (North Somerset).
- Deliver trauma-informed support to children and young people affected by familial domestic abuse through one-to-one and group interventions in schools, community settings and other.
- Manage risk, promote safeguarding and improve outcomes for children, young people and their families.
- The successful applicant will work closely with schools, children’s social care, adult domestic abuse services and other partner agencies to coordinate support.
- Also maintain accurate case records, contribute to service monitoring and help raise awareness of domestic abuse and healthy relationships.
Skills and requirements
- A motivated, compassionate and dynamic practitioner with experience of direct work with children and young people, safeguarding and multi-agency working.
- Post holder will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check against relevant barred lists.
- Applicants must be able to provide satisfactory evidence of their right to work in the UK at the application stage.
Candidate fit
- Be confident in assessing risk and need, developing support and safety plans, and delivering flexible, age-appropriate interventions that place the voice of the child at the centre.
- Bring strong communication and relationship-building skills, a child-centred and trauma-informed approach, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a busy multi-ag.
