What the role involves
- Supporting children and young people with their daily routines, including personal care where required.
- Build positive, trusting relationships.
- Promote safe behaviours and help manage challenges in line with care plans.
- Maintaining appropriate boundaries, structure, and consistency.
- Supporting education, hobbies, and social development activities.
- Contribute to care plans, reports, and reviews with accurate record-keeping.
Skills and requirements
- Experience working with children or young people in a caring or support role.
- Understanding of child development and emotional needs.
- Awareness of safeguarding, including risks such as exploitation, self-harm, and domestic challenges.
- Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children & Young People (or willingness to work towards this).
