Civil CAD Technician - Sussex


An established and highly respected civil engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a CAD Technician to join their growing team in Sussex.
This is a great opportunity for a technically strong technician to work closely with engineers and senior technicians, producing high-quality coordinated drawings across a range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

The Role


You will be responsible for the production and coordination of CAD drawings, working closely with engineers to ensure design intent is accurately translated into clear, buildable technical output.
This role will involve supporting the delivery of civil engineering design information across multiple projects, ensuring consistency, clarity, and technical accuracy throughout.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing and developing CAD drawings for civil engineering projects
  • Supporting engineers by highlighting design changes that may impact engineering outputs
  • Checking drawings thoroughly before issuing to engineers for review
  • Coordinating drawing packages and ensuring alignment across disciplines
  • Managing drawing files in line with internal document control procedures
  • Supporting coordination between technicians, engineers and wider project teams
  • Contributing to internal design reviews to support efficient and practical design solutions
  • Highlighting health & safety considerations within design information

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience using AutoCAD within a civil engineering consultancy environment
  • Experience working on infrastructure, drainage, or external works projects
  • Civil 3D experience highly desirable
  • Awareness of construction tolerances and practical site constraints
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings
  • Understanding of drawing standards and technical procedures
  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a team
