Civil Engineer focuses on authoring, assessing, maintaining, and managing design substantiation documents.

What the role involves

• Authoring, assessing, maintaining, and managing design substantiation documents.
• Presenting substantiations to nuclear safety committees.
• Developing EIMT schedules, operating procedures, and safety documentation (including Periodic Safety Reviews).
• Providing technical guidance to stakeholders and producing ITA/IPR scopes. Applying engineering expertise to design.
• Maintain systems in high-risk environments.
• Reviewing contractor submissions, calculations, and technical documents.

Skills and requirements

• At least 5 years’ experience assessing reinforced concrete and steel structures under static and dynamic loading.
• Ability to produce clear, robust technical justifications for design changes.
• Strong civil/structural engineering knowledge applied to existing and emerging technologies.
• Experience supporting multi-disciplinary projects.
