Class Teaching Assistant & PPA Cover

As a Teaching Assistant in Key Stage, the work centres on supporting children’s academic and emotional development through tailored interventions and classroom support. It would suit someone who can bring warm, steady communication with children and families to the role.

Where the work sits

We are looking to appoint someone who will work primarily in Key Stage 2 but opportunities across all year groups. Our Friendly and inclusive school needs someone kind, calm, helpful, adaptable, patient and dedicated who can support learning with a range of children to start 1st September 2026.

How the role works day to day

Supporting children’s academic and emotional development through tailored interventions and classroom support. Contribute to assessment, record-keeping, and general classroom organisation. Able to support learners with patience and structure.

Practical details

• 28.75hrs per week, term time only, 8-30am-3.30am Monday to Thursday, 8.30am – 1.00pm Friday.
• Breaks are 15min unpaid morning break and a 30min unpaid lunch break.
• KSA – FTE £26,168 (Actual Salary £17,268).
• Reporting to: Headteacher/SENCO.

What needs to be in place

• Holds relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HLTA status, or equivalent experience).
• Has experience working as a Teaching Assistant, HLTA or unqualified teacher (PPA cover experience preferred).
• Relevant teaching, instruction, or learner-support experience.
