What the role involves
- Be able to deliver brief, evidence-based psychological interventions under the supervision of a clinical psychologist.
- · Ensuring there are no ‘cliff edges’ or ‘gaps in services’ in provision of mental health care.
- Support, which requires an approach to working with autistic clients based on their current mental health needs rather than diagnosis.
- Ensure these are of the highest standard in terms of fair access, equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice.
- · Provide care and treatment to clients and their carers with a service that is culturally sensitive and gives due consideration to any special needs.
- · To ensure that statutory and legal requirements are incorporated safely within each service users care plan.
Skills and requirements
- Counselling Psychologist, Psychotherapist, RMN, OT, SW with further training and/or experience of working with autistic clients.
- Understanding of statutory policy relating to mental health care delivery incl. Care Programme Approach.
- Professionals around your autistic client’s needs. Experience of effective communication with other key stakeholders at a variety of levels.
- Team working skills, interpersonal skills and written and verbal skills, importance of a positive “can do” attitude and a positive attitude to change Understanding of and ability t.

- This vacancy has been advertised in accordance with the new NHS pay rate which will take effect from autumn 2024.
