What the role involves

  • Managing and optimise AWS environments for performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • Maintain cloud governance, security policies, and compliance frameworks.
  • Monitoring cloud services and respond to incidents and performance issues.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of cloud architecture, configurations, and procedures.
  • Provide 3rd line support and act as an escalation point for AWS-related issues.

Skills and requirements

  • Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing AWS environments.
  • Strong knowledge of core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud automation and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. CloudFormation, Terraform).
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g. Python, Bash, AWS CLI).

Additional role context

  • Design and implement AWS infrastructure solutions including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and Lambda.
  • Automate cloud operations using tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS CLI.
  • Stay up to date with AWS developments and recommend improvements or new services.
