Collection and Delivery Driver

We are recruiting for a Collection and Delivery Driver to join the team at our Mercedes-Benz PDI centre located in Skelmersdale!

As a Collection and Delivery Driver you will be responsible for the delivery and collection of all vehicles (both HGV’s and vans) in a safe, courteous and efficient manner. The role will require you to plan delivery routes efficiently, inspect vehicles at the time of collection and comply with driver hours regulations.

We are looking for someone who has experience in a similar role, is committed to providing the highest levels of customer service and will be a shining eStar ambassador when out on the road.

Package Details:

• £29,741 - £31,753 per annum, depending on experience
• Based from Skelmersdale with daily and frequent travel to customer sites  
• 45 hours per week
• Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 16:30
• 23 days’ holiday each year, plus bank holidays
• Permanent

• To ensure customer satisfaction in the delivery and collection of vehicles
• To carry out such work in a safe and economical manner
• To employ such knowledge and skills as may be required to drive vehicles
• To conduct all transactions with customers with the utmost courtesy

Role Responsibilities:

• Collecting and delivering all vehicles (HGV’s and vans) safely, courteously and efficiently to the satisfaction of our customers
• Planning efficient delivery routes and checking customer instructions prior to departure
• Inspection of vehicles at the time of collection and noting any damages on damage report
• Ensuring all vehicle deliveries are authorised and signed for on receipt
• Ensuring vehicle safety and security at all times, and that vehicles are not loaded when collected
• Complying with driver’s hours regulations and using tachograph equipment as required
• Completing all relevant driver paperwork as required
• Ensuring vehicles are clean and tidy and report any defects
• Ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety Policy and ISO requirements
• Ensuring compliance with all Company Policies, in particular the Company Driving and Company Vehicle Policy

The Ideal Candidate:

• Understanding of vehicle layouts for both HGV’s and vans
• To hold a relevant current valid driving licence – UK Class 1 licence (essential)
• To hold full current Driver CPC (essential)
• Experience in a similar role
• Enthusiasm to deliver the Mercedes-Benz customer experience
• Good administration skills/organisation skills
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Flexible approach to work and adaptable to thrive in a changing environment
• IT literate
