The role
With responsibility for our Mainline Full Price Stores, Outlets, Concessions and Digital Concession channels, this role acts as the vital strategic link between global retail operations and the core finance function, ensuring these channels are optimized for growth and that the 'story' behind the numbers is accurate, transparent, and actionable.
Key responsibilities
Strategic Commercial Partnership: Act as the key Finance contact to the Director of Retail Operations and their team. You’ll translate complex data into clear insights that drive store performance and global strategyBudgeting & Planning: Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting cycles for the retail organization, ensuring all commercial drivers are captured and challengedPortfolio Performance & Feasibility: Conduct high-level reviews of the store portfolio. You’ll lead financial modelling for store feasibility, identifying cost-saving opportunities and supporting the business in making 'go/no-go' decisions on global locationsIncentive Tracking: Oversee the tracking of store incentive programs, ensuring they are driving the right behaviours and delivering ROI for the brandThe Commercial 'Reality Check': Work closely with the Accounting teams to ensure the month-end results make sense against the commercial 'view of the world.'Labor & Payroll Strategy: Partner with Payroll teams to oversee and forecast store wages—our largest controllable cost. You’ll analyse headcount productivity and ensure wage spend is agile and aligned with sales volatilityStock Reporting: Support Buying and Merchandising Teams with reporting of Stock Intake, including Committed, OTB and Intake MarginsOther Ad hoc support for Head of Commercial Finance and Chief Financial Officer What skills/qualifications do I need?
Experience: 2+ years post-qualified experience (PQE) in a commercial finance role, ideally within a fast-paced Retail or FMCG environmentQualifications: Must be ACA or CIMA qualifiedCommercial Mindset: Ideally commercially minded with the ability to proactively challenge and understand the data in front of them to drive business performanceEfficiency Focused: A natural problem-solver who dislikes manual data entry and is always looking for a 'better way' to get to the answer through automation and process improvementCommunication: Proven ability to translate complex commercial P&Ls and financial data into meaningful insights for non-finance stakeholders across the business About the location
