Commercial Manager

Commercial Manager focuses on provide commercial leadership across the project lifecycle including governance and strategic advice to bid teams alongside support from our legal function.

What the role involves

• Provide commercial leadership across the project lifecycle including governance and strategic advice to bid teams alongside support from our Legal function.
• Provide solution-focussed risk and commercial advice for bids and projects across the project lifecycle to maximise performance of the Environment Business Unit and wider E+E BL.
• Develop and mentor junior colleagues in the Commercial team, including the wider Capture Manager, PM.
• Develop and execute effective commercial strategies on bids.
• Lead on contractual negotiations, escalating to the Assistant Commercial Director where agreed.
• Work with bid and proposal teams to support and critically analyse the pricing documents, qualifications and project execution methodology.

Skills and requirements

• Degree qualified in a business, finance, law, engineering or related discipline is essential. Post graduate business qualifications are highly advantageous.
• Maintain) of unrestricted UK government Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and (preference for) Security Check (SC) clearance levels to support teams working for our Defen.
• Suitable post-qualification experience gained across delivery roles or legal, commercial or finance roles within the Built Environment or Construction industry.
• Pre-contract procurement and/or commercial management experience.
