Consultant - Anaesthetics & Critical Care focuses on provide consultant‑level anaesthetic care for elective and emergency surgery.

What the role involves

• Provide consultant‑level anaesthetic care for elective and emergency surgery.
• Delivering consultant‑led Critical Care services alongside the established ITU consultant body.
• Supporting multidisciplinary working across theatres, ICU, outreach, and perioperative services.
• Supervise and appraise junior doctors, ACCPs, trainees, and medical students.

Skills and requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Anaesthetics (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR).
• DBS/PVG check (or willingness to complete).
