Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine (Sleep & LTV) focuses on the post-holder will be required to teach undergraduate students, postgraduate medical staff, and other professional groups.
What the role involves
- The post-holder will be required to teach undergraduate students, postgraduate medical staff, and other professional groups.
- The appointee will provide inpatient and outpatient care for patients with complex respiratorydisease.Aconsultantoftheweek(COW)systemisinplacewhichensures continuity of care forres.
- The COW will be responsible for the day- to-day care of all inpatients admitted under the Respiratory team.
- They will also be responsibleforallnewin-patientreferralstotheserviceduringtheworkingweek.The appointee will be expected to contribute to this on a 1:6 basis.
- It is expected that all ConsultantswillsupporttheCOWinadvisingaboutthemanagementofpatientsunder their long-term care.
- The appointee will share responsibility for routine and urgent bronchoscopy services (1:6 rota).
Skills and requirements
- Experience of LTV and Sleep services (Polysomnography, MSLT and actigraphy).
- Broad range of clinical experience in Acute Paediatric Respiratory.
- Valid Level 3 Safeguarding Training.
- Experience of research projects (including PI).
